A Few Words About the Project:
In the heart of Budapest, the Chain Bridge Renovation project includes the following planned works:
- Corrosion protection of the chains and the entire steel structure
- Demolition of reinforced concrete carriageways and sidewalks, followed by production and installation of new steel carriageway and pavement boards
- Renovation of casting shoes, replacement of rolling cart stumps
- Restoration of chain chamber and chain channel: drainage and insulation
- Renovation of roofs and crown cellars of bed pillars, cleaning and injection of stump nests
- Stone restoration:
- renovation of bed pillar, bridgehead, retaining wall, parapets, flag rooks
- restoration of lions, coats of arms
- Metal restoration:
- exchange of bridge candelabras
- renovation of embankment and pylon candelabras, pavement brackets, rosettes and bridge railings
- renovation/replacement of the Pest headway railing
- restoration of bronze coats of arms and plates

- Construction of new sidewalk barriers
- Reconstruction/widening of pedestrian underpasses
- Renovation/insulation of bridgehead operating rooms, in the framework of which a public toilet will be established in the northern room group of the Buda bridgehead
- Complete reconstruction of street lighting using energy-saving LED luminaires
- Design of decorative lighting using programmable, variable-coloured energy-saving LED luminaires, and decorative lighting shall be installed on the flag ramparts
